Happy 75th Post!

I honestly just noticed that it was my 75th post so this won't be much different from any other post that I have ever written. I am thinking about doing my first giveaway soon but I don't know what to give away. I would like it to be something unique to Germany or Wiesbaden but first I have to find something that I think is unique!! Right now I feel like everything that I use is pretty American!

Today has been a really fun day. After being woken up by the maid at 8:30am I couldn't really manage to go back to sleep (I know, don't hate me). I am slightly confused by this woman who is the maid here in the hotel. She comes to our room pretty much every day while I am here. If I am getting dressed or something I will ask her to come back. Every single time I ask her to come back she explains to be that our room has to be cleaned at least every third day. Since she knocks and barges right in, this morning I was still lying in bed. I told her that I was leaving at 12:30 and that she could come back then. Her response was the typical expected "well, ma'am, you see, you MUST have your room cleaned AT LEAST every third day here in the hotel". Well listen here lady, I KNOW this and I am not sure why you tell me every day because I let you in to clean the room EVERY DAY. I have never waited until the 3rd day because that is gross and I like the room to be cleaned every day. Now I feel a bit mean but it is true. I do let her clean my room everyday!

Anyways, Steph picked me up at the hotel at 12:30 and we headed to Sally Beauty Supply. While it might not have been REALLY affiliated with the REAL LIVE Sally in the States, it served its purpose just fine! I told Deaner last night that it was probably going to cost about 200 euros to get a new straightener and blow dryer. I know that sounds extreme but I have to have a nice straightener. It is a must. I had a CHI at home and I just can't settle for less. I was quite surprised and very happy when I found an awesome one for only 58 euro! I found a blow dryer for 21 euro! We decided before Steph bought them for her hair salon that we would take them home, test them out on me, and make sure she liked them. Our next stop was to her apartment to cut my hair. I LOVE it and think it looks great. I feel like a new person to have my hair cut short again. The combination of the nasty scraggly hair, a bad blow dryer at the hotel, and no straightener has really taken a toll on my hair. Now I am all back to normal. Now we just have to find the right adapter for my straightener tomorrow. Unfortunately we bought the wrong one for it today at the Exchange. Oops! I know I know, somehow I bought the only straightener with a British plug!

After I had been transformed we went to the commissary on the way home. Now I am stocked up on drinks so we don't have to go the vending machine each time we are thirsty! And I can pack Deaner a sandwich for lunch tomorrow instead of him having to eat Burger King again. Let's see, what else? Some people have asked me what kind of computer My Best Friend, Junior is? She/He (I can't decide the sex yet!) is an Acer Aspire One. Pretty much you just have to look for the one that is $299! We upgraded to the bigger battery and I haven't plugged it in since Monday! The battery, for now, appears to last about 7 hours! MBF, Jr. runs Windows XP, has 1 GB of RAM, 160GB of storage, wireless, an SD Card Reader (big plus for me), and an 8.9inch LCD screen. Basically, you don't want this computer if you are looking to write tons of papers for school or store tons of information on it. I also have a much larger nicer laptop but this one is fun and is going to be great to travel with. If it craps out in a year, oh well! It was cheap!

My other event of the day was to start making the olive oil/crushed red pepper concoction that I decided I loved while we were in Costa Rica. We were served olive oil and vinegar at a restaurant but the olive oil had crushed red pepper infused in it. It was excellent. We both love spicy food. So last week we found some cool glass bottles in a kitchen store here in Wiesbaden. I got a large bottle of olive oil at the commissary as well as crushed red pepper and my husband made me a make shift funnel out of a plastic cup. The mixture has to sit in a dark area for about a month before it will turn bright red. I can't wait. It already looks so pretty!I am planning on making more when I go home in July for Christmas gifts. This is just my practice round. Perhaps I will make millions but I sort of doubt it!

Not sure what is on my plate tomorrow. Definitely getting an adapter for my new hair straightener. I'll keep everyone posted!
