Ok, so I am thinking that this is going to be a pretty long post but I am going to try and put up as many pictures as I can. Deaner and I had such a great time on our trip. His friend lives about 15 minutes from the heart of the city so it was super easy for us to get around. The bus stopped in front of his house and took us directly to an area where we could walk to all the major sites! The picture to the left is our bus stop. We headed out around 10:45am on Saturday morning for what would become one of my longest day of sightseeing EVER! Our first stop on Saturday morning was at the stunning Trevi Fountain. Like I said yesterday, this is my new favorite fountain! I have always had a favorite statue (Statue of Liberty) but now I can add a favorite fountian to the list! It was pretty crowded but I thought it was awesome! It was so freaking hot that I would have loved to jump straight into this fountain! After visiting the fountain we headed towards the Pantheon. On the way there we passed the Spanish Steps.I hear that in the summer it is hard to even climb up the steps with the amount of tourists that are in the city. It was pretty nice when we were there.
We decided to go ahead and eat lunch before hitting up the Pantheon. We made the mistake of stopping at one of the first restaurants we saw near all the hub bub. Not that it wasn't good, it was just expensive. I made the mistake of telling the waitress that I would take a large diet coke and unfortunately (not so unfortunate for my husband that loves beer!) Deaner ordered a large beer.I'm not sure I have ever seen drinks this big! It took some serious arm muscle to get this monstrosity to my lips! I am embaressed to even mention the fact that the diet coke was 10 euro and the beer was 12 euro. That translates to roughly $14 and $16.80. Good God! I think the whole meal ended up being around $70 for just PIZZA and DRINKS! At least we can still expense our food! :)
After lunch we made our way to the Pantheon. This is one of Deaner's favorite places in Rome and I have to admit that it was pretty neat. It is hard to believe that it is still standing when it was built in 27 B.C.After the Pantheon we passed the Vittorio Emanuele Monument which was built in the late 1800's in honor of the first King of Italy. The inside has been closed for many years but the Monument is breath taking.Pretty nice monument! We went to the Colossuem was the next stop and it was pretty neat. We lucked out and the line to get inside was only about 15 minutes.Unfortunately I am not finished with our first day but I have to leave here to go pick Deaner up from work! We have to go look at a house we might be interested in. I want to go ahead and post this though so everyone can see pictures! Plus, the internet here works so slowly at night that I'm afraid that I won't get the rest of the pictures up! So enjoy these and I will post more tonight!!

Awesome pictures!
I think that might be one of the biggest cokes ever! At least you wouldn't need a refill

You have no idea how hard I laughed at your expression with the drink.
