Picture of House and Half Bathroom Progress!

Hi guys! I'm blogging from bed this morning. It is a rainy, cold and gross day here in Lakenheath, England. I getting really scared that by the time we get back to Germany, late on the 11th, that the good weather is going to be a distant memory and that it will be time to settle in for a long hard winter! Let's hope not! Last night Deaner and I got to enjoy an awesome dinner at my favorite restaurant here in Lakenheath called The Plough Inn. I know I have posted pictures of it before but it is just too great not to post them again!
I had a filet which was fantastic and Deaner had a sirloin. I'd go there again tonight if I didn't know Deaner would want to try something different! I think we are going to try and place called The Red Lion.

Onto more house pictures. So, I was never able (some may call it lazy) to go back outside the other day and take another picture of the house WITHOUT a bakery worker smoking in the front door. I'll just have to post the one that I have! Here is the outside picture of our new house!I bet that it doesn't look like everyone would have imagined it to look! I think that the outside makes it look sort of small but the inside is huge. I'll get a better picture when we return home!

I decided on Sunday afternoon that I was going to re-do the downstairs half bathroom before we left on Wednesday for England. My plan was to paint on Monday, go to Ikea for new hardware on Tuesday and be done by Tuesday evening. However I just couldn't stop myself and I actually finished the whole project on Monday night. Minus the incident where I bought the wrong sized curtain at Ikea and had to go back again Tuesday to get the correct one! Here are some pictures of what the bathroom looked like before.I am pretty happy with the finished product. After taping, painting, new little rug, new mirror, new curtain, new hand towel holder and pictures hung.....here is what it looks like! Here is an up close shot of the picture I hung in the bathroom....This picture is sort of a family joke. When I was about 10 or 11 I made the mistake of pronouncing "Gargantua" as "Gar-gen-tuna" and my parents HAVE NEVER LET ME FORGET IT. I received this Ringling Brothers poster of good ole Gargentuna for my birthday a few years ago. It makes me laugh every time I see it even though they are totally making fun of me! So, how do y'all think it looks? I was proud!

Anyways, I guess I should start my unproductive day! I am in charge of finding a printer and printing out our England National Park membership cards that my husband insisted on purchasing us. I also need to find the post office here on base so I can mail in some rebates for our mattress we just bought. And last but not least, I need to workout. I'm sure my day will be full of internet browsing and reading! I'm looking for some good new recipes to try out now that fall is on the way! Any suggestions are welcome!! Hope everyone has a great day! One more day until a long weekend!! PS--I was waiting for Deaner to get home from German class the other night when I looked out the window to see this!! Priceless!!

LOVE the Gar-gan-TUNA picture! It must be a rare and valuable print.
The bathroom is awesome - I guess Deaner really DID know what he was doing when he married you.
