Prague, Part I.

What a fun weekend we had this past weekend in Prague. Deaner and I have a really hard time finding cities where neither of us have ever visited and while this was no exception, it was a new city for me! We set out for Prague on Saturday morning after Deaner got in late on Friday night from England. His delayed flight set us back a little bit in the morning but we were on our way by 10am. Surprisingly it was a pretty easy drive to Prague. We did encounter a shady situation right after crossing over into the Czech Republic. Shortly after driving over the border a black BMW drove up next to us and 4 adult men were motioning at us to pull the car over to the side of the road. At first I thought they were telling us that something was wrong with our car but none of our dash lights were on and nothing felt wierd. They cut us off in front of us and two of the men were waving their arms outside of the car for us to pull over. Deaner slowed down on the shoulder and the car started to speed up behind us like they were going to rear end us. Luckily my husband came to his senses and muttered something about reading about something like this happening and he took off again. The BMW immediately hung back and did not attempt to follow us again. We pulled off the highway at the next crowded gas station and of course nothing was wrong with the car. I have a feeling that if Deaner had been retarded enough to stop, we might not be the current owners of a Crysler Crossfire!! The only other anxiety I experienced on the way to Prague was that I was in a panic thinking that I forgot my hairbrush. For those who know me, you know it is hard for me to leave the house without my hairbrush. I don't know why I just don't like to have unbrushed hair. If I had forgetten my brush, there would have been no way to function without one, and finding another one was really the last thing I wanted to deal with. Thankfully, when we arrived at our hotel, it was in my bag. I'm still grateful!!

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice our hotel was. It was gorgeous, our room was enormous and it was in the perfect location. Here are a few pictures of our hotel room. I take them because we like to be able to post reviews on hotels we like on Trip Advisor. We had heard a few horror stories about hotels in Prague and so we were thrilled with ours. Also, there was free parking in a secured courtyard which made it completely worth it. We arrived around 4pm or so we didn't have a ton of daylight to burn once we arrived. We headed towards the old town and walked across the Charles Bridge. We found a fantastic little Italian restaurant that was in a back alley and had awesome food. I couldn't believe how cheap it was compared to going out to dinner in Germany. We are constantly ripped off in Germany by the quality of food in restaurants and with how expensive it is. We called it an early night because it had been a long day and we knew that Sunday was going to be a day of sightseeing. I am going to leave the rest of the pictures to post tomorrow because frankly, I am sick of uploading them now! I have a big pot of homemade spaghetti sauce on the stove right now and it smells delicious. I can't wait for Deaner to get back from work so that we can eat dinner! Is it sad that I am excited about this and it is only 3:50pm in the afternoon? More pictures tomorrow!

I bet you are getting a lot more daylight already. I noticed it was still light here here now past 6:30 PM. Spring is coming!! (But not for a while - 26 degrees at 10:30 AM.)

Sounds like a close call with the BMW. Glad y'all did not stop for them.

Looks like cold weather in the photos.

That was probably scary to interact with the BMW. I am glad you are both safe. I bet you loved Prauge and I hope to make it back there again soon.

So glad you didn't stop for that car! I have heard some iffy things about Czech Republic, but it sounds like the rest of your trip was awesome.

P.S. I laughed about the brush. That's totally me and lip gloss.

Maybe you need to be traveling in a less conspicuous car in the "marginal" cities. Why would a BMW want to hijack a Crossfire??
Sorry, Deaner.

That's so strange about the car! Prague looks great, I've always wanted to visit there.
