Baby Deaner is A...........!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you look closely at the 4th picture in this sequence you can see something that resembles a baby bottle nipple? Baby Deaner is a BOY!!!!!! I could not be more thrilled. I really didn't think that we would be able to find out today because I am only 14 weeks and 1 day today. However the doctor seemed pretty confident that it was a boy and it didn't take her long to find the evidence. Take a look at the rest of those pictures! Have you ever seen a baby so cute in your whole life!! I think the first one looks like he is stretching out his neck! I can't believe how much bigger he has gotten! The news was very exciting! I told the doctor about all our upcoming traveling and she is completely fine with me traveling to the States at the end of April/beginning of May. She is a little more skeptacle about us going to Greece at the end of May. I am really stressed out about that. Especially since our tickets are bought and hotel booked! She didn't think there would be anything wrong but she said that if I needed medical attention for any reason, I would not want to be in Greece. Apparently Greek hospitals don't have the best reputations? Anyways, I am going to hope that the trip works out and that I am worrying for nothing.

I have to work tomorrow and I hoping that it goes well. I am a bit nervous about it since I am actually the kindergarten teacher tomorrow and not just the aide! However there are THREE aides in the room so surely things won't be that bad? God help me. I'm off to bed!

Schloss Johannisberg

Most people would be really excited about having dinner in a place like this on any given night. Deaner and I are eating here tonight and I have to admit that I am less than thrilled about it. Castle Johannisberg is famous for it's wines and this office event is first and foremost a wine tasting. UGH. Why must I be put through the torture of watching everyone else sipping tasty wine while I can't? Awful if you ask me. I am hoping that it still turns out to be fun and that the food is good but I am skeptacle! Typically I would have tried to bail out but there is an Engineering conference this week and there are a lot of people in town and Deaner felt like we had to make an appearance. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the wine!

Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting for for the past 4 weeks! I get to go to the doctor in the morning! Yea!! I will be 14 weeks and 1 day. I am holding on to a slim hope that their might be a chance the doctor will be able to tell the sex tomorrow. I know it is early but just maybe I will be put out of my anxiety ridden state and we will be able to find out. If not, it will just have to be at the next appointment! Which I am hoping the doctor will let me come back a bit earlier than 4 weeks if we can't find out tomorrow. I'm sure my sleep will not be great tonight! I'll definitely be posting new pictures of the baby tomorrow so make sure to check back! Happy Hump Day!

Seriously?

Ok, I just have to mention this before I frantically start tidying up the house before my dinner guest arrives. When Deaner and I went to the thrift store on Saturday I happened to eye this little gem up on the shelf. For those of you not up on your bottled water skillz, this is a bottle of Voss water. Empty, I might add. Now, I don't know about y'all but I don't think I would ever purchase an empty used bottle of water. For $3!!!! I doubt that it cost that much WITH the mineral water in it! I am going to just have to chaulk this one up to someone accepting it without knowing what it really was. Otherwise I am going to start saving my Evian water bottles and selling them to the thrift store. I also feel like telling the hotel restuarant owner that someone is stealing his big beer mugs and selling them to the thrift store as well. I mean, I know they belong to the restaurant as I ate there for 5 months straight! Lesson learned, you can sell ANYTHING to the Wiesbaden Spouses Club Thrift Store.

Now I am off to finish up dinner and straighten some things up!

Just Forget It

I just wrote a big ole long post about my day today and our weekend and for some reason it erased. I cannot be bothered to reproduce it because if I do, I might pull out my hair. The gist of it was this. My husband likes to make a huge mess on the weekends. I think he does it just so I will have something to do on Mondays. If it gets anymore out of control, I am going to have to start laying some ground rules. I cleaned the whole house today. All the sheets in both bedrooms are clean and the whole house is vacuumed. I said this before with a lot more detail and several funny antics. However, I can't be forced to reproduce it now! My feet hurt from standing on these marble floors all day long.

I told y'all about our weekend but really it wasn't so exciting that I want to write about it again! The highlight of the weekend was the fact that Deaner let me purchase a deep fryer on Saturday afternoon so that I can make chicken fingers once in a blue moon. I made some Sunday night and they were fantastic. Here is a picture of our fry up!I am sure that it will be retired for awhile right after we make chicken fingers for Steph and Jon this weekend! :) Have to enjoy it a bit more before Deaner forbides it's use around the house! Plus, the clean up is not that practical!

Anyways, I will try and be more on my game tomorrow and perhaps Blogger will cooperate with me a bit better. We have a friend coming for dinner tomorrow whose husband is in Africa for 10 days. Yikes. At least when Deaner travels it is only to England! Wednesday we have a work dinner with Deaner's office. I wouldn't mind so much except that it is a wine tasting in a Castle near our house. Not being able to drink is bad enough but when the whole event is centered around drinking wine, it is becomes a bit annoying. Thursday I have a doctor's appointment which I CANNOT wait for!! I love going to the doctor. And Friday I am subbing for Kindergarten. Hopefully it will be a fast week! Hope everyone is having a great day!

Fast Arriving Friday!

When you pretend to be a day behind all week long, Friday arrives a day early!! If only we could do this every single week!! So, now it is Friday and I am looking forward to spending a nice relaxing week with my husband. We have no big special plans and I have no problem keeping it that way. I think that tonight we are going to go out to dinner and then come home and catch up on some TV shows. I have no idea what we will do on Saturday and Sunday and frankly, I don't really care! The weather is supposed to be crappy, which is par for the course, and I don't mind chilling out.

It just dawned on me yesterday that I never finished post pictures from Prague! Only a week late now! Here are a few from our day of sightseeing on Saturday. We were really lucky with the sunny weather but don't be fooled, it was still FRIGID! When we left our hotel in the morning to set off on our adventures I realized this "structure" that I had clearly missed in the dark the night before. This is one unlucky dude! First we walked back to the Old Town square to check it out during the day. It was just at beautiful in the sunshine! In the picture below, the Astronomical Clock is apart of the tower to the left.Close up of Deaner in front of the Astronomical Clock. You can tell by his attire what the temperatures were like!Deaner really wanted to climb to the top of the Astronomical Clock tower and against my will, I agreed to do it. I could just imagine myself huffing and puffing up the stairs to the top and I was not looking forward to it. Luckily for me, there was an ELEVATOR!! And I STILL got the credit for agreeing to walk up the steps because I didn't know about elevator until after I agreed to go up the steps! From the top of the tower we had some awesome views of the entire city. The views were so cool. Afterwards we walked to the tram stop to ride up the hill to the Prague Castle, which you keep seeing in the background of all these pictures. It was a funny experience since we couldn't figure out how to pay once we got on the tram! Thank goodness the ride was short and we were able to hop off without getting arrested! The castle was beautiful up close and we had a beautiful walk back down the hill afterwards. After walking around the Castle and Church grounds we started the walk back down the hill. Which perhaps had the prettiest views of all.We had a few more adventures during the day including riding a funicular up a hill and seeing a "house of mirrors". I felt a little mislead by this "house" of mirrors since it was really only one room and it took about 5 seconds to walk through it. Deaner looked at me and admitted that he might have made a mistake by making us pay the admission. But it was pretty funny. We had another delicious dinner that night and Sunday after a good breakfast we headed back to Germany! Thankfully we weren't accosted by any car jackers on the way home and the trip home was easy. Sorry for so many pictures but once I get started I just have to post all of them! I hope that everyone has a great weekend!!

Bathing Suit Review

I know I promised I would write about this bathing suit when I received it.I have to admit that I was getting a little nervous about it while I was waiting for it to arrive. I kept thinking about how skinny those mannequin legs were! When Deaner called to let me know that it was delivered I was anxious to try it on. I mean, if it wasn't going to fit then it just needed to be returned and banished from my memory. Surprisingly, it fit just fine and I like it a lot. Turns out your legs don't actually HAVE to be that skinny! There is plenty of room to "grow" in all the right places. It's a winner and I am keeping it. Here is the best part. For some reason Old Navy felt the need to send me not one, but TWO bathing suits. Don't worry, I already double checked my bank account and they only charged me once! The order numbers and batch numbers are exactly the same on each invoice so it is clear they just double sent it. Now for the real question. Do I send one back and try and get another color? I mean, while I am really happy to have TWO new bathing suits, I don't really need two pink ones. I am undecided. Thoughts?

Today I actually had a pretty long day. I went with my friend Barbara to my first spouses club luncheon. It was a lot of fun. There were tons of raffle prizes, a silent auction and a live auction. Who knew? I don't think it will be my last time! We ran a few errands afterwards and it was almost 4pm by the time I got home! Deaner came home from the gym and made us some amazing Philly Cheese Steaks for dinner. Yum! Now we are vegging on the couch watching American Idol. Unfortunately now all the bad people are getting kicked out so I am losing interest. I really only like the tryouts. Going to have to find a new show now! Tomorrow Steph and I are having lunch at our FAVORITE place, Vapiano! I am really looking forward to some fresh mushroom pasta! YUM! Does it seem to anyone else that everything revolves around my eating these days? I might have to do something about that. I would say Happy Wednesday to everyone but I am pretending it is still Tuesday so that Friday gets here faster! So, Happy Tuesday!

Prague, Part I.

What a fun weekend we had this past weekend in Prague. Deaner and I have a really hard time finding cities where neither of us have ever visited and while this was no exception, it was a new city for me! We set out for Prague on Saturday morning after Deaner got in late on Friday night from England. His delayed flight set us back a little bit in the morning but we were on our way by 10am. Surprisingly it was a pretty easy drive to Prague. We did encounter a shady situation right after crossing over into the Czech Republic. Shortly after driving over the border a black BMW drove up next to us and 4 adult men were motioning at us to pull the car over to the side of the road. At first I thought they were telling us that something was wrong with our car but none of our dash lights were on and nothing felt wierd. They cut us off in front of us and two of the men were waving their arms outside of the car for us to pull over. Deaner slowed down on the shoulder and the car started to speed up behind us like they were going to rear end us. Luckily my husband came to his senses and muttered something about reading about something like this happening and he took off again. The BMW immediately hung back and did not attempt to follow us again. We pulled off the highway at the next crowded gas station and of course nothing was wrong with the car. I have a feeling that if Deaner had been retarded enough to stop, we might not be the current owners of a Crysler Crossfire!! The only other anxiety I experienced on the way to Prague was that I was in a panic thinking that I forgot my hairbrush. For those who know me, you know it is hard for me to leave the house without my hairbrush. I don't know why I just don't like to have unbrushed hair. If I had forgetten my brush, there would have been no way to function without one, and finding another one was really the last thing I wanted to deal with. Thankfully, when we arrived at our hotel, it was in my bag. I'm still grateful!!

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice our hotel was. It was gorgeous, our room was enormous and it was in the perfect location. Here are a few pictures of our hotel room. I take them because we like to be able to post reviews on hotels we like on Trip Advisor. We had heard a few horror stories about hotels in Prague and so we were thrilled with ours. Also, there was free parking in a secured courtyard which made it completely worth it. We arrived around 4pm or so we didn't have a ton of daylight to burn once we arrived. We headed towards the old town and walked across the Charles Bridge. We found a fantastic little Italian restaurant that was in a back alley and had awesome food. I couldn't believe how cheap it was compared to going out to dinner in Germany. We are constantly ripped off in Germany by the quality of food in restaurants and with how expensive it is. We called it an early night because it had been a long day and we knew that Sunday was going to be a day of sightseeing. I am going to leave the rest of the pictures to post tomorrow because frankly, I am sick of uploading them now! I have a big pot of homemade spaghetti sauce on the stove right now and it smells delicious. I can't wait for Deaner to get back from work so that we can eat dinner! Is it sad that I am excited about this and it is only 3:50pm in the afternoon? More pictures tomorrow!

White Cheese Dip Recipe

I just realized that I have been meaning to post this recipe for awhile now and I keep forgetting. Since I have out my recipe book right now I will go ahead and post it. I asked my favorite mexican restaurant in Atlanta, Taxco, how they make their white cheese dip. Since I can pretty much scarf down a bowl of it myself I figured it would be a good idea to learn how to make it here. Here is the recipe. YUM!

White Cheese Dip

2 cups finely grated Land O Lakes White American Cheese (You can find this in the deli section of the grocery store. I normally have them cut me approximately a 1 pound block)
4 oz jalapenos drained and finely chopped
1/2 cup half and half (do NOT use fat free)
2 tablespoons very finely minced onion
1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Put all ingredients into the slow cooker/crock pot on low/medium. Cheese will melt to right consistancy in about 20-25 minutes. If you turn the slow cooker up, be aware of the sides will burn. Serve hot. YUM!!!

Finally Friday

I felt like Friday was never going to come this week! And now I feel like 9:20pm tonight is never going to get here. Deaner didn't even have to work today and he couldn't get an earlier flight than that! Another dinner alone! UGH. We are going to leave for Prague in the morning and come back on Monday afternoon. I am hoping that we won't freeze to death but from what I have seen, the highs are in the 20's and snow is in the forecast! Just can't seem to get away from it!

I have nothing else to report today. Monday I will have lots of good pictures to post and hopefully some good stories to tell!

Daily Wrap Up

Since Deaner has been out of town I have taken to getting in bed with my laptop at night. This would not go over so well if he was home because he already feels like my laptop and I have too close of a bond. He may or may not be right on target! Just so I don't forget, someone asked me yesterday where the maternity bathing suit was from. I ordered it from Old Navy and it was CHEAP! I think like $35. Try buying a real bathing suit for that amount! I'll post about it when I get it but there will be no pictures!

Today Steph and I ventured out just to see what kind of stuff Ikea had for babies. Answer? Crap. There was not one thing in the entire store that I would have purchased for a baby. Before anyone goes on a rant about how great Ikea is, keep in mind, this is Ikea Deutschland! There was nothing even remotely helpful. Afterwards we crossed the parking lot to Babies R Us, only to be disappointed again. I suppose that everything I buy will be ordered online from the United States. Grrrrrreat! At least I know ahead of time.

After our fruitless shopping venture we headed back to Steph's apartment and hung out most of the afternoon. Steph cooked an awesome dinner and it was nice to get to hang out with friends as opposed to being alone! Thanks for dinner Steph! Tomorrow I am having lunch with another friend and if I am really ambitious, I might go check the mail! Ha! Of course the gas light in my car is about to turn on so that may be the first order of business tomorrow. After tonight only one more night until Deaner gets back! I can't wait. Hope everyone is having a great day!

Day #2 Alone

Happy Tuesday everyone! I am a little bit late in posting today and I am not sure I even have a good excuse! I have been staying up super late with Deaner out of town and sleeping in every morning. I'm not going to lie, I have been sleeping a lot better doing it that way and I only have to get up ONCE a night to pee! This is a big improvement over 3 times when I go to bed around 10 or so!

Today was day #2 alone and it was fairly productive. While doing laundry today (I know it seems like we produce a lot of dirty clothes in our household, doesn't it?) I decided it was high time to clean out our laundry room. We are really lucky to have a huge laundry room but the problem is that we tend to dump the junk in there and unfortunately it is in a location where everyone who comes to our house can see it. It certainly isn't hidden. So it was tidy up day. I took lots of junk down to the garbage cans and did some organization. It looks a million times better! The next time I see a cardboard beer case thrown in there I am going to have a fit! :)

Deaner and I also booked our hotel in Santorini!! We have been reading reviews on hotels for the past 5 days and finally picked one. It is hard to pick a hotel because it seems like for every 5 good reviews a hotel gets, someone will write a terrible one that will make you doubt your decision. We use Trip Advisor A LOT living in Europe and it seems to be the most helpful. We finally found a hotel today that had 79 raving reviews and 0 negative ones. SOLD. We booked it and are really excited about it. Here are a few shots of the views and of the hotel grounds. I am getting excited just typing this!

Can we say AMAZING? I also ordered this today since I am assuming NONE of my current bathing suits are going to be fitting me at 7 months pregnant!I just hope it is as cute in person. Have no fear, I am certain my legs are as skinny as those legs on the mannequin! Anyways, if anyone has any tips on Athens or Santorini feel free to leave them on here! We will have a full day and a quarter in Athens and we will be in full tourist mode before relaxation kicks in Santorini.

That is all for the day. I enjoyed a wonderful dinner tonight with a friend of mine whose husband is in Armenia this week. It was fun to catch up and have some girl talk. It is the same couple we are going with to Garmish next month to ski with. Except I won't be skiing for obvious reasons! Boo! Hope everyone is having a good day! And seriously, why doesn't my spell check work anymore on blogger?? Any ideas?

Weekend Recap

Well there really isn't a whole lot to recap but it sounded like a nice title! Since I worked on Friday I was pretty tired by the time Deaner got home from work. We knew we were going to have a low key weekend and decided to head back to our old stomping grounds for dinner on Friday night. That is right, we VOLUNTARILY went back to the hotel where we lived for five months and had dinner at Little Italy. I'm not going to lie, we always liked the food, it was just the amount of time that we spent there when we were too lazy to walk out to dinner each night! I never thought I would say this but it was actually sort of a fun summer living in that hotel and venturing out on foot each night to find a place to enjoy dinner. It at least got us familiar with our new city. I am counting down the days until Day Light Savings time kicks in again and it is light here until 10:30pm and the sun is up at 4:30pm. I know it is going to be a hot summer, being grossly fat and all, but I am in desperate need of the sun. Anyways, I digress.

When Deaner and I got in the car to go to dinner on Friday night he broke the news to me that he didn't think that he was going to be able to travel home with me to Atlanta at the end of April. I sort of knew that this could happen but I was just waiting to find out for sure. I was hoping that I could go home for a week and a half and the he would then join me for another week. No such luck. When I asked him why he was so sure at this point he handed me a piece of paper with a flight itinerary on it. I didn't even really look at it closely before expressing my opinion on the fact that he had to go to England AGAIN. He sort of laughed and told me to LOOK at the ticket. Imagine my surprise when I realized that it was TWO plane tickets leaving from Frankfurt and taking us BOTH to GREECE!!! This is something that I was not expecting at all! Deaner explained that he thought we should take a big trip together before the baby gets here and we have both been wanting to go to Greece. We are spending two nights in Athens and then flying to Santorini for 5 nights. I could not be more excited (ok, well maybe I would be a little more excited if I knew I was going to be skinny in a bathing suit instead of super fat but I totally don't care)!! Since he decided to book us this trip he didn't think he should come to Atlanta with me just because it would be a lot of time away from the office. SO, I am heading home alone April 29th thru May 11th and then when I return, we will be leaving for Greece May 28th and staying until June 4th. It is going to be a GREAT Spring/Summer! I can't wait to be enjoying the views above this summer!!

Saturday was less eventful. In fact, I am trying to even remember what we did on Saturday. It sure wasn't much! We made homemade pizzas for dinner and watched TV. FUN! Sunday was a sad day because Deaner had to pack for England. I drove him to the airport at 3:00pm and he was on his way. Of course, it was sad. I wouldn't do well having a husband who travelled all the time when I couldn't go along! I hit up the commissary for the week on the way home and ate spaghetti for one last night. I actually stayed up and watched the first quarter of the Super Bowl but fell asleep shortly after that. Today has not been very eventful either! I have a big pot of soup simmering on the stove right now and I can't wait to eat it for dinner!! Is 5:35pm too early to eat!? I have also found a new drink that I love. People who know me know how much I hate to drink water. Gross. Don't ask me why, just don't like it. Yesterday I recieved a tip from Steph and ran with it. I put 2 crystal lite packets into a 1.5 liter bottle of sparkling water. YUM! The best way to drink water ever!

Tomorrow I am having dinner with a friend, Wednesday dinner with Steph and Jon and Thurday hanging out with another friend. I am surprised my week filled up like that but perhaps it will make it go by quickly! Deaner returns Friday night and we are leaving Saturday for Prague until Monday. I have never been to Prague so I am really excited. For now I think that I am going to go ahead and eat my dinner. I am single this week after all!! I can eat when I want!! Happy Monday!

It's Friday, and I am still alive!

I made it thru the week of subbing twice. Some may laugh at me for only working two days this week and thinking that it is an accomplishment but I am proud. And exhausted. And sick as a dog. Don't ask me how I am sick AGAIN after the debacle over Christmas, but I am. I have another cold that is making me feel like death. I can't breath, my nose is raw and I have no energy. I am hoping that this one doesn't last a week like the last one did. I don't know if it is my immune system being down because I am pregnant OR the fact that I have been around kids this week. They do carry the bubonic plague after all!

We have nothing exciting on our plates this weekend. We are going out to eat tonight and have no plans tomorrow. Deaner leaves on Sunday for England for a week. It should be a low key weekend and considering how I feel, that is a good thing. I hope I can tough it out because this no medication thing is really killing me!

Survived!

I am happy to announce that I survived my day of subbing yesterday. However I was so completely exhausted that there was no way in the world that I was going to be able to blog about it yesterday. I arrived at the school at 7:30am on Wednesday and I met with the Special Ed director to be "briefed" on my TWO (not ONE as I was originally told) Special Ed kids. The director told me that he wasn't going to lie to me and tell me that they were easy kids to tell with. Grrrrrreat! I was freaking out. Long story short, it ended up being a pretty good day. The two kids I was incharge of were pretty much fine. The little girl was really sweet and I liked her a lot. The little boy was a little more high maintenance. He actually got mad at me in the lunch line because he dropped his fork on the floor and I told him he had to get a new one. This resulted in him hitting me but luckily it was right as his normal aide arrived and she was able to deal with him. As it turns out I was in the same class for the rest of the day just in a different role. It was not bad and I somewhat enjoyed my day. Minus the fact that I could barely keep my eyes open when I got home. I mean I felt sick I was so tired.

Tomorrow I have fourth graders and I am hoping that they are a little lower maintanence than the kindergarteners. And I am also hoping that the teacher leaves a very detailed outline of what needs to be done. Including lots of movies! My friend has a son that is in the class so I plan on using him as my information source! I already told Deaner that I probably won't be up for much tomorrow night! Too bad it is Friday!

Deaner has to leave on Sunday for England. Bummer! He is going to be gone all week long and I will be home alone! Boo!! I am going to try and work as much as I can and I have some dinner plans but I am thinking that it is going to be a long boring week without him. I couldn't tag along on this trip because he has to go to like 4 different places and honestly, I didn't feel like being in the car that much. If I don't end up working very much, it is going to be a long week. The very least I could do it make some money!

It is worth noting that today the temperature in my car said that it was 40 degrees outside. I don't remember the last time I saw the temperature even in the 30's! Maybe we are turning the bend, but something tells me not to count my chickens before they hatch. Today I met Deaner for lunch, ran to the commissary for a few things that I keep forgetting that we needed (including toilet paper and kleenex!) and then came home and changed the sheets in our room and cleaned up a bit. I have the windows upstairs open since it is so "warm" outside! Hopefully it will air out our house a little bit. Deaner had the sniffles a few days ago and now I am sneezing and coughing up a storm. I am afraid that I have another cold and I am not pleased about it. Anyways, I am off to try and be a little more productive before Deaner gets home from work. We will how that goes! Wish me luck tomorrow! PS--I know I have totally been slacking on the pictures lately but I haven't had a chance to even use my Christmas present yet. Deaner came home last night and told me that we are going to Prague next weekend for Valentine's Day so I should have a chance then! I can't wait!

Lord Help Me!

I truly had nothing to write about today until a couple of hours ago. I had absolutely nothing to do today and was dreading the boredom. I cleaned the house a little, played on the computer a little and even put away all the laundry (there was A LOT of it). I have been sort of disappointed that the school hasn't been calling me more to substitute but since I get so nervous to sub anyways, it has been a double edged sword! As I was arriving home from a short walk this afternoon the school called. They asked me to sub tomorrow and of course I said yes. Then she told me that the first half of the day would be for the one on one aide for a special education child. Oh great! What have I gotten myself into now? I obviously have nothing against kids with special needs but I hardly know how to sub anyways. Nor do I know where anything is! I was fairly impressed to hear that all kids with special needs actually get a one on one aide for the entire school year. I just hope I can live up to my duties tomorrow! I keep telling myself that it is only for 3.5 hours so how awful can it be? Anyone with any ENCOURAGING words are welcome to leave them for me! To say that I am nervous is an understatement!

The second part of my day will be spent as the kindergarten aide. I am not as worried about this considering that I have done it before. I just have to get through the day! And then I am subbing for 4th grade on Friday. I'm sure I will be nervous again but I've got to get over it! I'm just trying to think about the money. Surely I will survive, right?

Mundane Monday

Happy Monday everyone! I hope that everyone had a good weekend! Ours was pretty fun. Friday night we found a new restaurant in the next town over and it was good. I didn't love my entree but I thought our appetizer was good and I'll definitely try it again and get something else for dinner. Saturday we did a bit of shopping and then had dinner with some friends on Saturday night. Sunday the sun actually came out in Germany. It was a monumental event. Unfortunately when we were at lunch on Sunday afternoon I started seeing halos and bright lights and was having blurred peripheral vision. This happened to me about a year ago and I was afraid that I was getting a migraine. Afterall, those are all the signs that a mirgraine is coming on. It is so scary! I came home and laid down in our bedroom with the blinds down for the rest of the afternoon. Booooooooring. The only day of the winter that the sun was out! At least I managed to keep the actual migraine from ever becoming full blown. I don't feel 100% today either and still sort of have a dull headache. I'll take that anyday over a migraine though so I'll consider myself lucky.

I just caught a little bit of the Grammy's as it was being replayed on AFN. I have a few comments to make. First of all, when you have to bleep out half the song because of explicit lyrics, it really doesn't do much for the viewers watching at home. In fact, it is kinda ridiculous. Secondly, what was Lady GaGa wearing on her head? That thing was not a hat. I feel sorry for the guy that was sitting behind her. My last observation is how in the world Taylor Swift won album of the year. I mean I am not knocking Taylor Swift but she was up against Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Dave Matthews??? It sure doesn't make sense to me!

Anyways, not much else is going on. I am fighting the urge to take a nap. I know that if I do, I will never have a shot at sleeping tonight. I already had lunch with Deaner today and hit up the commissary. Now I am just doing laundry and cleaning up the house. I don't know how it manages to get so messy on the weekends but I know who I am blaming!! :) We are probably going to be booking tickets to the US soon and I can't wait! We are thinking of going for the first two weeks in May and that means that I won't have to wait that much longer!! I'm off to make my bed and keep cleaning up! Happy Monday!!
